Statlander placed second in the August 3 edition of the AEW Rankings, so she was seemingly set to face either AEW Women's World Champion Thunder Rosa or TBS Champion Jade Cargill. However, due to her injury, Storm has climbed back up to the top spot.
When discussing this development on AEW Dynamite, Storm noted that she planned to keep her momentum going, and her goal is to win the AEW Women's World Championship. As of this writing, the date for Storm's shot at the gold has not been confirmed.
Fightful will provide more information about Statlander's injury as it becomes available.
