Manu comments on potentially joining The Bloodline storyline.
Since 2020, Roman Reigns, The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso), and Paul Heyman have been featured on WWE programming as The Bloodline. The stable also includes The Usos' brother, Solo Sikoa. As the storyline has continued to unfold, fans have speculated about how other members of the family could be brought in. Former WWE star Manu (real name Afa Anoa'i Jr.) is one of the potential options. His father, Afa Anoa'i, is the brother of Sika, Roman Reigns' father.
Speaking with Steve Fall for WrestlingNewsCo, Manu was asked to share his thoughts on The Bloodline storyline. He noted that The Bloodline has had a prominent spot in the wrestling world for a long time. Manu also stated that the cousins are all very close in real life.
“I mean, if you really think about it, we’ve always been there. We’ve always had The Bloodline, back when it was Yoko and the Headshrinkers. There’s always been a Samoan on top, at wrestling’s peak. We’ve had The Rock, we’ve had Roman. We’ve always kind of been in that spotlight. But for it to be focused, now everybody realizes, ‘Man, this family is crazy.’ We all are. We come from a very close family. I still play games with Roman and The Usos and stuff like that. We still communicate, we’re all very close. I still talk to Lance while he’s in Japan and stuff like that. We’re very close. All of us cousins are all very close, so just to see the wrestling world have the spotlight on it like that, it’s awesome. It reminds me of back when The Rock was on top. It’s great," Manu said.
Manu was then asked whether there have been discussions about him potentially joining the storyline. He stated that it could easily happen, as there are plenty of ways he could be brought back to WWE TV. The former WWE star also described how he likes to say anything can happen.
“It could easily happen. I could easily join Roman. I could easily join The Usos. I could easily join Cody. There’s plenty of ways you could introduce me back into TV. Anything can happen in the World Wrestling Federation. I say that all the time, and I always say that. That’s my thing, and I feel that to be true," Manu said.
Manu previously had a run on WWE's main roster as a member of The Legacy alongside Cody Rhodes, Ted Dibiase Jr., and Randy Orton. He was released in 2009, but he remains somewhat active on the independent scene. There is no word on if or when Manu will return to WWE.
Jimmy Uso will return on the September 1 episode of WWE SmackDown. Check out the card here. Fightful will have coverage of the show as it airs.
