AJ Francis says that you have to beat the king to be the king.
AJ Francis has been feuding with former MLW World Heavyweight Champion Alex Kane in recent weeks, and they will clash in a singles match at MLW War Chamber on March 29.
Speaking with Fox News Digital, AJ Francis discussed his upcoming clash with Alex Kane.
“This is going to be the first actual match and interaction between me and Alex Kane. We have a bit of a storyline going. The idea I came up with is based off the movie 'Black Panther', where he’s the ruler of Bomaye and he was the MLW Champion for a very long time and I’m coming in as the outsider who’s trying to make his claim for the throne. So far I’ve already sowed dissension in his ranks, and as well as beating his top right hand man, Mr. Thomas. So I’ve already started to lay the groundwork for the hostile takeover of Bomaye. It’s been a lot of fun because we just bounce a lot of ideas off each other. Even last night, we were bouncing ideas, this morning bouncing ideas, so it’s been a lot of fun. The best part of it is, once I take control of Bomaye, they’ll actually have a leader that can get them exposure to the level that they deserve. When I take over, first thing’s first is I’m gonna beat Alex Kane. Just like in 'Black Panther', you gotta beat the king to be the king," Kane said.
