AJ Styles says WWE wants to help make wrestling bigger.
On July 13, WWE star AJ Styles will face Naomichi Marufuji at NOAH Destination 2024. This comes amid WWE's ongoing collaborations with TNA and GCW (through Josh Barnett's Bloodsport). Plus, IYO SKY will face Utami Hayashishita at Marigold Summer Destiny 2024.
During a press conference ahead of the show, AJ Styles commented on how his match against Marufuji, as well as SKY's bout in Marigold, showed what the Triple H era of WWE is all about.
"I think this is showing the Triple H era of what WWE is all about. Because I’m not the only one that is wrestling in Japan tomorrow night. IYO SKY is also wrestling, along with myself. That just goes to show what Triple H is trying to bring throughout the world and WWE, whether it be in NOAH or somewhere else. Having the opportunity to wrestle there is big for everybody, and it just shows how we were willing and able to work together so that we all can make pro wrestling as big as we possibly can," Styles said.
Doc Gallows recently credited the vision of Triple H for Styles having a match with Marufuji. Check out his comments here.
Styles has praised Marufuji and called him one of the best he has ever seen. Click here to see what he had to say.
