AJ Styles saved his old rival from a Bloodline beatdown on the September 15th episode of Friday Night Smackdown.
John Cena was advertised to participate in the Grayson Waller Effect talk show on September 15. In actuality, John Cena did not say a single word in the ring on September 15. Grayson Waller talked down to John Cena the entire time, and when John Cena appeared to fight the arrogant Australian, Jimmy Uso interrupted and continued to talk over John Cena.
Solo Sikoa came down and eventually set his sights on attacking the 16-time WWE World Champion. Jimmy Uso would join in before AJ Styles came down to make the save.

AJ and John Cena would stand tall to close the show.
AJ and John are no strangers to each other as John Cena defeated AJ Styles at the 2017 WWE Royal Rumble to capture his 16th and final WWE Championship to date. AJ Styles over John Cena, the first being at WWE Money in the Bank 2016 and again at WWE SummerSlam in the same year.
