Alabama's Rylan Griffen Says Beating UCONN Would Be Like Ultimate Warrior Defeating Hulk Hogan

Rylan Griffen says Alabama is the Ultimate Warrior to UCONN's Hulk Hogan.

The finale of March Madness is rapidly approaching, as the tournament is down to the final four teams. Top-ranked UCONN (35-3) has had a dominant season, but fourth-ranked Alabama (25-11) has had an impressive run up to this point as well. The two teams will clash in a semi-final game on April 6.

Speaking with the media ahead of the game (via ABC 33/40 News), Alabama's Rylan Griffen was asked to describe what wrestling event he would compare potentially beating UCONN to.

"I think Ultimate Warrior beat Hulk Hogan, like Hulk Hogan was big dog. He was the highest, the big-time dude around the WWF at the time. Ultimate Warrior came in with a bunch of energy and beat him, and he got the belt, he got the championship. Hulk Hogan was just lying down on the floor, like hurt and stuff. So I would delay that because Hulk Hogan’s like in the GOAT conversation for WWF, and UCONN, they’re a really good team. They’re like the Hulk Hogan of college basketball right now, and Ultimate Warrior came in there and beat him. So I would say it’s like that," Griffen said.

WWF Intercontinental Champion Ultimate Warrior famously beat WWF Champion Hulk Hogan at WrestleMania VI.

Griffen previously celebrated Alabama's victory in the Elite Eight with a custom WWE Championship. More information is available here.
