Aleister Black: Paul Heyman Told Me, 'You're So Far Ahead Mentally That People Have To Catch Up'

Aleister Black has always been a Paul Heyman Guy.

Black was heavily featured on WWE Raw during Heyman's time as Executive Producer of the company. After Black was released by WWE on June 2, Heyman reached out to Black to let him know things were going to be okay.

"He reached out to me on the day that it happened and was very sad," Heyman told Renee Paquette on Oral Sessions. "Paul has always said to me, 'Tom, I think you're five years ahead of the business. As brilliant as I think you are, that's sometimes your biggest issue. You're so far ahead mentally that people have to catch up.' He still believes I'm going to do great things. I'm absolutely far from done. In these past three days, there have been so many knocks on the door and so many people reaching out and so many cool opportunities. I'm genuinely super excited and for the first time in a long time, I don't feel anxiety about my profession, I feel genuine excitement."

Black previously mentioned that when he was under Heyman's wing on Raw, Heyman would fight for him, but they could only do so much.

Elsewhere during the podcast, Black revealed pitches to work with Samoa Joe, Brock Lesnar, and The Undertaker that never came to fruition. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
