Alex Shelley Thanks Everyone Who Has Supported Him, 'I Can Now Call Myself A WWE Superstar'

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin (Motor City Machine Guns) made their WWE debut on Friday's WWE SmackDown, defeating Los Garzas (Berto & Angel) and A-Town Down Under (Austin Theory & Grayson Waller) in a triple threat match.

Shelley debuted in March 2002 and is one of the most respected and decorated tag team wrestlers in independent wrestling history.

In a new social media video, Shelley thanked everyone who has supported him, including co-workers, friends, and family. "We did it. What I was able to accomplish last Friday on SmackDown was a dream come true." Shelley said he's no longer just a physical therapist clinician, a brother, a friend, a punk rocker, or an artist, he is now a WWE Superstar.

Shelley said he couldn't have done it without the support of so many people at different points of his life. "I have to be one of the most blessed people out there. Now the hard work begins."

Shelley & Sabin will face DIY (Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa) in a number one contenders match for the WWE Tag Team Titles on Friday's WWE SmackDown.
