Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal have made their way back to Heath Slater.
In 2012, the 3MB (three man band) was formed when Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal joined Heath Slater's One Man Band. The group of wrestlers had little success in the ring, lost every chance at a Tag Team Championship match they had, and their run was highlighted by when they joined forces with Hornswoggle and took on Los Matadores and El Torito. That feud was over after El Torito defeated Hornswoggle in a "WeeLC" match at Extreme Rules 2014 and then defeated Mahal, Slater, and McIntyre in consecutive weeks on Smackdown.
Mahal and McIntyre were both officially released in June of 2014 and went back to wrestling for independent wrestling promotions. Mahal did not wrestle as often as McIntyre who went on to hold championship gold in promotions like Impact Wrestling and Evolve.
While away from WWE, Mahal noticeably improved his physique and returned to WWE in 2016. The next April and around the time McIntyre would show up on a NXT Takeover, Mahal was losing in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal to Mojo Rawley and Rob Gronkowski. But later that year, Mahal and McIntyre would both be holding Championships as Mahal defeated Randy Orton for the WWE Championship and McIntyre won the NXT Championship.
Within two weeks of each other, McIntyre was injured in his championship loss to Andrade Almas and Jinder Mahal would lose his WWE Championship to AJ Styles. That brings the timeline to this week's episode of Raw which was the first night of the 2018 Superstar Shakeup.
Mahal was moved from Smackdown to Raw but would lose his WWE United States Championship nearly immediately to Jeff Hardy. McIntyre re-debuted on the main roster as he attacked Titus Worldwide on the behalf of Dolph Ziggler. On the same night, their old stable mate Heath Slater lost in a tag team match to Authors of Pain.
So there you have it, after nearly 4 years all three members of 3MB have navigated their way back to the same brand of WWE television. But, more changes during the second night of the Superstar Shakeup are imminent.
