Alter Bridge was set to rock Raymond James Stadium in 2020.
Alter Bridge has provided Edge with his theme song since 2005. At first, Edge used Metalingus and would keep that theme song Until 2022 when he switched to the band's song, “The Other Side,” a change that coincided with a new direction for his character.
For all these years, add has never been played to the ring by the band although they did appear in a 2005 backstage segment with him. However, that was supposed to change in 2020.
Responding to a fan on Facebook wishing that the group could have played Edge to the ring at WrestleMania 38, the band’s manager, Tim Tournier revealed that the group was supposed to play Edge to the ring for his first singles match in almost a decade against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 36, prior to the global coronavirus pandemic.
“We actually booked this in 2020, it was all set - everyone was getting ready to fly in but it got canceled due to Covid. WWE and Edge have been great to us over the years, we love them and would jump at any opportunity to work with them,” said Tim.
Bowling For Soup’s frontman revealed in the past that the pop-punk group was also supposed to be at WrestleMania 36 and they were set to play Alexa Bliss to the ring at that year's WrestleMania and Ash Costello of New Year's day was also supposed to play Rhea Ripley to the ring and she would get that opportunity in 2021.
Outside of providing Edge with his theme music, Alter Bridge also provided the pay-per-view theme songs for the 2005 Royal Rumble with their hit, Find The Real, and the 2007 Unforgiven event with their song Rise Today. Their song, Open Your Eyes, was also a theme song for the first WWE Divas Search.
