Andrade El Idolo Reflects On CMLL Return, Says It Feels Great To Go Back To The Places He Started

Andrade El Idolo shares his thoughts following his return to CMLL.

Andrade previously wrestled for CMLL for several years and won multiple titles, including the CMLL World Tag Team Championship and the NWA World Historic Welterweight Championship. He left the company and signed with WWE in 2015. After he signed with AEW in 2021, Andrade later returned to CMLL on December 15, 2023. He competed at several shows over the next few weeks, and he also wrestled on the Mexican independent scene.

In a post on Instagram, Andrade El Idolo commented on his return to CMLL and the Mexican independent circuit. (Translated by Fightful's Luis Pulido)

“How great it feels to go back to the places where you started in the business and face past rivals and peers and realize and face new talent. Always grateful to the fans and to all the fans for shouting the name of LA SOMBRA, ANDRADE, & EL ÍDOLO. Thank you Mexico. VIVA MEXICO CABRONES," Andrade El Idolo wrote.

At AEW Worlds End, Andrade El Idolo lost to Miro. During the post-show media scrum, Tony Khan confirmed that Andrade's AEW contract expired at the end of 2023, and he said he didn't expect him to renew. Check out his comments here.
