On June 4, Andrade El Idolo made his debut in AEW, aligning himself with Vickie Guerrero.
Andrade was released by WWE on March 21 and didn't have a non-compete clause attached to his release, allowing him to sign elsewhere without the waiting period. Andrade first appeared via video package at AAA Rey de Reyes before joining AEW.
Speaking to Milenio (translation via Luis Pulido), Andrade revealed he signed a three-year deal with AEW.
“Now I have a three-year contract with the AEW, I've only been with them for half a year, I'm looking for the most important championships with them because I didn't get that opportunity in WWE and, in this new company, I want those opportunities," he said.
Andrade has yet to have a championship opportunity in AEW, but he has picked up victories over PAC and Matt Sydal.
He is set to battle PAC in a rematch on Friday's AEW Rampage. Fightful will have live coverage of AEW Rampage beginning at 10 p.m. ET on Friday.
