Velveteen Dream will get to face one of those Indy Guys.
A couple months ago, Velveteen Dream started to criticize the "Indy Guys" who seemed to be flooding the NXT roster. During the most recent set of NXT tapings, Velveteen Dream has been feuding with one of the biggest independent names Ricochet. The two wrestlers had a match against each other which ended in a no-contest when Lars Sullivan interfered. Ricochet and Velveteen Dream also teamed in a handicap match against Sullivan but Velveteen Dream abandoned his tag team partner.
Ricochet and Velveteen Dream started to exchange words about who was the best in the ring and eventually the two agreed to a singles match. Sullivan will be challenging Aleister Black for the NXT Championship.
Also teased during the tapings was a Women's Championship match between Shayna Baszler and Nikki Cross. The NXT Tag Team Champions Roderick Strong and Kyle O'Reilly also brawled with Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch.
NXT Takeover: Chicago will be June 16th and it is the second time a takeover event has been in the city.
