The title win marks Crews’ first since he made his NXT TV debut back in 2015 and quickly made his way to Raw and SmackDown. Back in April, Crews became a member of the Raw roster wrestling on SmackDown for months.
The match is a rematch from their prior encounter weeks ago where Crews suffered an injury in the middle of the title bout. That injury forced Crews to withdraw from the Money In The Bank ladder match and was replaced by AJ Styles.
