Asuka Receiving A Rematch For The SmackDown Live Women's Championship At 'Extreme Rules'

The Empress is coming for the title.

Two Sunday's ago at the WWE 'Money In The Bank' PPV, Asuka challenged Carmella for the SmackDown Live Women's Championship. Asuka believed that she was going to be getting a fair shot at the Women's Title but the sly Carmella had an ace up her sleeve as she brought her former "assistant" James Ellsworth back to WWE. Ellsworth distracting Asuka during the match was enough for Carmella to capitalize on and pick up the victory to retain the SmackDown Live Women's Championship. Carmella is now only the second person in the history of WWE to own a clean pinfall over Asuka and while the loss once unsettled "The Empress Of Tomorrow", she will have yet another opportunity to do what she wishes she had done at 'Money In The Bank'.

During tonight's episode of SmackDown Live James Ellsworth came out to the ring to address the women of WWE--particularly Asuka. Ellsworth decided to call out Asuka but instead he got the SmackDown Live GM Paige who notified Ellsworth of two things: first that at 'Extreme Rules' on July 15th Asuka will be challenging Carmella for the SmackDown Live Women's Championship and secondly, Ellsworth will be in action next week against Asuka in an inter-gender match.
