After a fantastic and hard-fought bout between the two young stars, the finish of the match came when Atlantis Jr blocked Kyle Fletcher's attempt at a Brainbuster on the top corner by hitting an Avalanche Canadian Destroyer, which he immediately followed up by hitting two Frog Splashes on Fletcher to pick up the win and be a double champion.

With this win, Atlantis Jr becomes the 31st champion in the title's history and joins Dragon Lee and Punishment Martinez (current WWE World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest) in the list of Latino Wrestlers to have held the belt. After the match, Fletcher congratulated the Prince of Atlantis on the win but did challenge him to a rematch on Fletcher's home turf, which Atlantis Jr accepted.
