This upcoming Sunday at IMPACT Wrestling's 'Slammiversary XVI' PPV which is sold out at the 'Rebel Entertainment Complex' in Toronto--the main event of the show will feature the IMPACT World Championship being defended as the champion Austin Aries defends against the self-dubbed "Mr. IMPACT Wrestling" Moose.

Ahead of the bout Austin Aries spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated to discuss his upcoming match with Moose, the entire event that is 'Slammiversary' and the two parties also touched on Aries' run in WWE. Last year during the month of July, Aries was released from his WWE contract and he has stated over numerous platforms and in interviews that he was open to whatever ideas the company had for him but things ended up not panning out. Aries reiterated those same sentiments as he shared that the only regret he has from his time with the company is that fans were not able to see what he can really do.

"I was totally open to any opportunities they had—any division, any brand. As for regret, more than anything else, my regret lies in that the WWE Universe never really got the real Austin Aries. Outside of commentary, they missed out on the chance to hear and see me be me, and do what I do best, and of course a number of great matches, including the names mentioned." Aries said.

In a recent interview Austin Aries listed three men who he feels are next in line for a World Title shot if he retains the IMPACT World Championship this Sunday. To read up on who Aries has in mind, click here.
