Batista Critiqued Shane McMahon's Mania Match And Shane Had An Excellent Comeback

The WrestleMania 33 match between Shane McMahon and AJ Styles caught the attention of a former WWE headliner.

Dave Bautista, who wrestled as Batista during his career in WWE, recently tweeted about the McMahon-Styles match, posting the following:

Aubrey Edwards: It’s Incredible To See All Of The Things That AEW Has Been Through As A Company

"I watched my homie Shane McMahon's match and gave him my full critique. (To) which he replied... #Bluetista"

Fans started heckling Batista with "Bluetista" jeers when he made an odd choice for his gear at Payback 2014. It was symbolic of the WWE universe's feelings toward that entire run.

Batista returned to the company after an almost-four-year absence, winning the Royal Rumble in January of that year. Initial attempts to push Batista as a babyface on that return tanked with fans, so he began playing more of a heel role in the lead-up to WrestleMania 30, where he and Daniel Bryan challenged Randy Orton in a Triple Threat for the WWE World Heavyweight Title. After WrestleMania, Batista, Orton and Triple H re-formed Evolution, but Batista left the promotion in June after a dispute over how he was being used creatively.

A six-time champion in WWE, Batista has made a successful transition to the acting world, where he is best known for playing Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol 2" debuts in theaters on May 5.
