A tag team rematch is set for this week's episode of SmackDown.
First announced on WWE's The Bump, SmackDown Women's Champion Bayley and Sasha Banks will face off against the team of Naomi and Lacey Evans on March 6. This will be Banks' second televised match since returning to action after being sidelined her for most of the first two months of 2020.
The two teams faced off against each other on the February 28 episode of SmackDown with Naomi and Evans coming out on top. Originally, Bayley and Naomi wrestled each other in a rematch from Super ShowDown on SmackDown, but Banks attacked Naomi during the match, which led to the tag team bout.
SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and her good friend Sasha Banks have been running the blue brand block for some time. Now that Lacey Evans & Naomi have joined forces, is that about to change?
It appeared to be business as usual as The Boss returned to SmackDown last week to derail Naomi’s attempt at payback against Bayley, but The Sassy Southern Belle charged the ring to help fight off her two bitter rivals. The unlikely paring of Evans & Naomi then scored a hard-fought victory that left Bayley & Banks searching for answers and the new unlikely duo celebrating a surprising win.
Will Team Blue soon have a pair of new role models?
In an in-character interview on WWE After The Bell, Banks stated that she hasn't wrestled due to the ankle injury suffered on television courtesy of Evans. She claimed to be 100 percent but needs to be 125 percent to return. You can find her full comments by clicking here.
Already announced for SmackDown is the return of the Firefly Fun House with Bray Wyatt setting his sights on John Cena after the two agreed to a match at WrestleMania 36.
Fightful will have live coverage of SmackDown with a post-show podcast to follow.
