Samoa Joe is gearing up for the battle of a lifetime against current AEW Champion Jon Moxley.
The two are on a (pardon the pun) collision course destined for AEW Beach Break on May 14, where Moxley will defend the AEW Championship against former champion, Joe.
Samoa Joe recently spoke with Express U.S. Sports, where he discussed a number of different subjects, including his opinion on how to best deal with people like Jon Moxley.
"Moxley's without a doubt a very chaotic and very unpredictable opponent. But you know, the best way to handle guys like that is just to keep walking forward straight, [and] smashing them in the face," Joe said.
They say the best defense is a good offense, and smashing Mox's face seems to be Joe's choice for offense. Joe knows the responsibility that comes with both becoming, and staying the AEW World Champion. He won the AEW Championship in 2023, defeating MJF and becoming the only man to hold the AEW, ROH, and TNA World Titles. He knows what it takes to become a champion and stay a champion and he plans on doing just that at Beach Break.
"A characteristic that's indicative of the people who have been great in this business is the ability to deliver when it counts. When you are the main event and world champion, you're expected to make sure that the fans are given their full and greatest amount of satisfaction and happiness. That solely falls on your shoulders," Joe said.
Joe's matchup with Moxley will be only the second time the two have faced off. The first was on an episode of WWE Raw, back in 2017, and Joe won the match after Moxley (FKA Dean Ambrose) passed out to the Kokina Clutch.
