Bayley and Sasha Banks have been the best of friends since their days in NXT. they have also been able to produce some of the most critically acclaimed matches in the modern history of women's wrestling. on the main WWE roster, Bayley and Sasha have had a roller-coaster relationship that has led to a handful of highly intense matchups on television and even the birth of the women's tag team division in WWE.
After the two lost the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship at WrestleMania 35, Sasha Banks went on a 5-month hiatus from WWE.
Speaking to talkSPORT prior to the Royal Rumble 2020 event, Bayley would call this timeframe a very difficult few months.
“I can’t do this without [Sasha] and I never want to again,” she said. “[Sasha being away was] the hardest few months for me, professionally. But I’m happy now she’s back.”
Continuing on, Bayley spoke about her desire to face her friend on pay-per-view, saying that it is not her fault that that hasn't happened as of yet and affirmed her desire to wrestle Sasha Banks one-on-one at WrestleMania.
“Not my fault! [they haven’t fought on PPV]. I would love to, I would love to. She is obviously the best ever, in my opinion. The best to ever do it. But, I guess, if her ankle is OK for the Rumble on Sunday after what Lacey Evans did to her on SmackDown, I would love to see her win the Royal Rumble match. Then I could go on and beat Lacey and maybe we could have that big old main event that we deserve [at WrestleMania],” she continued.
In the end, Sasha Banks was not cleared to compete in the Royal Rumble match as Fightful exclusively reported. You can read the full interview at this link.
