Becky Lynch says the WWE Universe is not chanting for Cody Rhodes when her husband, Seth Rollins, is in the ring, they are chanting “Colby.”
Seth Rollins’ Road to WrestleMania has been tumultuous, to say the least. up until Monday, March 28, Seth Rollins did not even have an opponent at WrestleMania 38 and was jumping through hoops, foolishly so, according to Vince McMahon, in an effort to find an avenue into WrestleMania 38.
The longstanding rumor has been Cody Rhodes will be returning to WWE to face Seth Rollins at the event. Currently, Seth Rollins is facing a mystery opponent of Vince McMahon’s choosing but audiences for the past several weeks have been chanting Cody Rhodes’ name when Seth Rollins is in the ring or on the microphone.
Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins’ wife, has that they are not chanting for “Cody” but instead because wrestling fans feel like they know Seth Rollins personally, they are chanting for “Colby,” Seth Rollins’ real name.
“You're thinking of his government name,” Becky Lynch told IB Sports when asked about Seth facing Cody. “Seth’s government name is Colby. I think because everybody feels like they know him so well, they've been chanting ‘Col-by, Col-by!’ I mean, he's so good that he could have a match with himself and it would be awesome. So yeah, maybe he'll be forced to have a match with himself, but hell, if it wasn't on the same night that my match is, he could steal the show.”
Vince McMahon said we won't know who the opponent will be until he is announced while Seth Rollins is standing in the ring.
