Becky Lynch Wants To Headline WWE Crown Jewel: 'This Is The Biggest Match, Regardless Of Gender'

Becky Lynch wants to headline an event in Saudi Arabia.

Becky Lynch is all about making history. As the first woman to win the headline match of WrestleMania, Becky Lynch would go on to hold the WWE Raw Women's Championship for over a year and even defend the championship successfully before relinquishing the gold, announcing her pregnancy, and effectively missing the entirety of the pandemic era of WWE before coming back at WWE SummerSlam 2021 and immediately recapturing gold from Bianca Belair.

Now, as she looks to become only the second woman to defend gold in Saudi Arabia, Becky Lynch stated in a new interview with Sports Illustrated that she would like to headline the event Line, believing that her triple threat against Sasha Banks and Bianca Belair is the biggest match in pro wrestling regardless of gender.

“It would be very powerful if we headline the show,” Lynch says. “This is the biggest match you can have in pro wrestling right now, regardless of gender.”

Discussing the potential of headlining this card, Becky Lynch would say that she believes that image of representation for all of the girls in Saudi Arabia would be very powerful. Of course, Becky, Bianca, and Sasha are three of only five women to have ever headlined WrestleMania

“I think what’s very important, in a place like Saudi Arabia, is to show the women what’s possible,” Lynch says. “Maybe pro wrestling catches a young girl’s eye. If we can have that effect on even one person, it’s huge. Maybe it’s not now, but for the future, you can dream and you can achieve. Now more than ever, that’s so important.

“Even when I think about myself, I remember how I felt growing up when I first saw Lita come into WWE. She was a badass, and she could hang with the guys. She wasn’t the typical cookie-cutter at the time. When I saw her, it showed that you don’t always have to be blonde and look like a Barbie doll to make it in wrestling. That meant a lot to me. Obviously, I’m not a girl that grew up in Saudi Arabia; I had a very different upbringing. But this is an opportunity to show them what girls can do, and that’s very powerful.”

On today's episode of WWE’s The Bump, Sasha Banks stated that she wants to be able to wrestle Becky Lynch forever praising Becky for the person she is inside and outside of the ring. Learn more here.
