Becky Lynch is bringing the title home to her daughter.
Becky Lynch became a seven-time champion by winning a battle royal for the vacant WWE Women's World Championship on the April 22 episode of WWE Raw. In doing so, she won a singles title on the main roster for the first time since she captured the SmackDown's Women's Championship in 2021.
In a Raw Exclusive, Becky Lynch was asked to comment on her title win.
“It feels great to hear [I’m the WWE Women’s World Champion]. I’ve never held this championship before. Look at it, it’s beautiful, it’s beautiful. Look, for the last few months, Rhea even said it, I’ve been burning the candle all out. I’ve been away from my daughter for weeks on end. Got myself a New York Times bestseller for a damn near month. But man, it’s worth it. It’s worth it because the words of my book are written on my gear. It reminds me why I do this, where I started, where I’ve gotten to. We’re just going up, baby," Lynch said.
Lynch was then asked whether she had thought about the fact that her daughter, Roux, could likely understand what the title win meant more than she could previously. She made it clear that she wanted to make Roux proud.
"Everything that I do, I want to make her proud. I hope she’s proud. She did [stay up late to watch the match]. I got a text from my husband [Seth Rollins], who’s recovering from surgery. At all stages, we need at least one champ in the house, so I’m bringing it home, baby," Lynch said.
When asked, Lynch said that fans could indeed expect her to be a workhorse champion like Seth Rollins.
