Big E is set to defend his WWE Intercontinental Champion on Sunday at WrestleMania 37 in a Nigerian Drum Fight.
The stipulation was added to the match by Apollo Crews on the April 2 episode of WWE SmackDown.
So, what exactly is a Nigerian Drum Fight?
"Look man, I don't know," commented Big E when asked by Ariel Helwani on Helwani's MMA Show. "I've had a bunch of people reach out to me and ask me what this is. I've been reaching out to historians and googling and scouring Peacock. I think it's a new thing and no one has explained it to me. I've got some work to do. Maybe I'll learn on the fly. [I've agreed to a match that I don't know what it is.] Probably not the smartest thing, but we're going to do it."
WrestleMania 37 will mark Big E's first singles match at WrestleMania since he signed with the company in 2009.
Speaking on the opportunity, Big E said, "As excited and proud of all our accomplishments as a trio with New Day, it is fulfilling to go out there on my own merits and show my opportunity."
In a recent interview, Xavier Woods joked that he might end up defending the Intercontinental Champion for Big E under the "Freebird Rule." You can find Woods' full comments by clicking here.
