There is an art to professional wrestling.
The mat of a wrestling ring is called a canvas for a reason. The best artists can construct beautiful masterpieces that withstand the test of time. But Joe Hendry believes that great art, great stories aren't just told in the ring; they can be told in a variety of ways.
Thats what the TNA World Heavyweight Champion recently told Joel Pearl in an interview with Fightful, after being asked about the challenges of telling stories between taped shows, with a live show in between.
One of the advantages we have with professional wrestling is that it is so ingrained with who we are as people. For example, my legitimate name is Joe Hendry. That is my name. You can tell stories in a multitude of ways. This is why professional wrestling is my favorite art form because you can tell stories in the ring, in your promos, in your vignettes, with your wrestling gear, with your entrance music. So many different ways. For me, it’s a puzzle that needs to be solved. What can you do in your social media, in your interviews in-between, to continue those stories," Hendry said.
Hendry, so far, has told stories in both TNA and in NXT. He's gearing up to take on TNA's Frankie Kazarian and NXT's Ethan Page at TNA Rebellion, happening on April 27 at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, California.
