Believe it or not, Big E is comfortable with Jey Uso teaming up with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods.
The New Day found their greatest competition in Jimmy and Jey Uso not only in between the ropes but in terms of legacy, also. When Jimmy and Jey Uso broke the record for the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Championship run in existence, they also beat the record set forth by Big E, Kofi Kingston, and Xavier Woods.
As can be the case in competition, respect was born between all five men, and on the February 12 episode of Monday Night Raw, Jey Uso teamed up with Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods to battle Imperium's Gunther, Ludwig Kaiser, and Giovanni Vinci.
During his appearance on the February 14 episode of WWE's The Bump, Big E revealed that there are no hard feelings toward Uso stepping into his role as the third member of New Day, or New Jey, for one evening.
"You would think but look, man, when you have those knockdown, drag-out fights time is coming in with guys like that. You build a certain level of respect," he said. "We all have to remember the moment where, on The Road to WrestleMania/KofiMania, where we had the Gauntlet Match and The Usos came out and said, 'You know what, we forfeit,' so, you know what? Things are good. I feel like we smoked the peace pipe, we buried the hatchet, all those things. Jey has been on one incredible run.
"Man, we go back so far. I think back to you FCW when I used to pick him up. He didn't have a car to go to practice and train. We're talking about 12-13 years ago. To see him where he's at right now in his run, all the respect to Jey," E added.
Jey Uso now has the chance to win his first singles championship when he goes for the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Gunther on the February 19th episode of WWE Monday Night Raw.
