The Big Show was one of the early members of the New World Order, despite being at odds with the group when they first formed.
One month after Hulk Hogan turned heel at WCW Bash at the Beach 1996 and formed the NWO alongside Scott Hall and Kevin Nash, Hogan beat Big Show (known as The Giant in WCW) to win the WCW World Title. Less than a month after that, he was part of the NWO.
Speaking to Steve Austin on the Broken Skull Sessions, Big Show reflected on joining the group and why it happened.
"I'm happy for those guys," Big Show said when discussing the NWO going into the 2020 WWE Hall of Fame. "But the NWO, now that I'm older, I want to give them the double [middle finger]. Great faction, but you look at what the NWO did business-wise. I joined the NWO because they beat me, threw a party on me, and didn't want to give me a return. They didn't want the comeuppance back. 'Oh yeah, brother, come into the group.' I was young and naive. They weren't naive. It should have been, 'I'll drop the title but somebody is gonna have to feed me, eventually.' They got one over on a lot of guys. One time we pulled up and there's 40 limos with guys in the NWO. Who was left in WCW, Sting?"
Big Show would be tossed out of the NWO by the end of 1996 after he won WCW World War 3 and asked for a WCW World Title match with Hulk Hogan. He would go on to feud with the NWO throughout 1997.
Elsewhere during the interview, Big Show revealed that Vince McMahon would never compare him to Andre The Giant despite their similar size. You can view his full comments by clicking here.
