Billy Mays III, son of OxiClean spokesman Billy Mays, says the iconic stain removal brand was considering sponsoring WWE during its most prosperous era.
Lugz, Stacker 2, JVC, and Chef Boyardee. These are all iconic brands in the eyes of wrestling fans because they sponsored WWE during the Attitude Era. However, infomercial mainstay OxiClean was considering sponsoring WWE.
Billy Mays III revealed on X that there was even an idea for his father, the star of the infomercials Billy Mays, to appear on WWE programming to use the stain remover to remove blood from the ring mat. Blood regularly made an appearance on WWE shows back then.
You have no idea how close something like this was to happening! Sometime during the attitude era, OxiClean was thinking about sponsoring the WWF and the idea I heard thrown around was that my dad would appear on Raw or a PPV to “clean blood off the ring mat” #SummerSlam https://t.co/i6q1IIvKKw

While we never saw OxiClean used on WWE programming to remove Mick Foley's blood from the ring mat, we would see Kane, The Rock, and more become pitchmen to sell cans of Chef Boyardee, and Booker T would eventually get his chance to sell Hungry Man dinners.
Today, sponsored ads are all over the ring mat and throughout the many stadiums hosting WWE PLEs. WWE recently announced Wingstop as a sponsor. Learn more about that here.
