Booker T sees nothing but good things for the Motor City Machine Guns in WWE.
The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) made their WWE debut on the October 18 episode of WWE SmackDown after WWE confirmed that they signed with the company. The duo defeated Los Garza (Berto and Angel) and A-Town Down Under (Grayson Waller and Austin Theory) to advance to a Number One Contender's Match for the WWE Tag Team Championship on the following week's episode.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast with Brad Gilmore, Booker T commented on the Motor City Machine Guns' WWE debut.
“Those guys deserve a shot to get a chance to work in the WWE, as far as have that perhaps WrestleMania moment, WrestleMania week. These guys, man, they’ve been putting in work. Are they a good tag team? Hell yeah, hell yeah they’re a good tag team. That loyalty, being able to invest in each other for all of these years, that says something in itself. Do they fit in with the guys in WWE right now? I think they fit in perfectly. Are they experienced enough to understand what this game’s all about? Yeah, they been around long enough to know that man, we’re not gonna be doing this forever, so let’s get as much out of it as we possibly can. I’m glad to see those guys get a shot in WWE and get a chance to have this run, I really, truly am happy for those guys," Booker T said.
Booker T also shared his thoughts on the way that WWE announced the Motor City Machine Guns' debut in advance, as he noted that everyone knew that it was them. He stated that he saw nothing but good things for the duo in WWE.
"Everybody knows who they are. Everybody knew it was gonna be the Motor City Machine Guns. But just to still try to make these guys as fresh as you possibly can, everybody needs to a new coat of paint every now and then. I just think that’s wise. Motor City Machine Guns, for these guys to have a run, get a chance to work with some different tag teams, l think that’s the beauty of this thing more than anything. I see nothing but good things for the Machine Guns in WWE. I think those guys pretty much check off all of those boxes that I talk about all the time, as far as being players, guys that you want on your team. That’s the Motor City Machine Guns," Booker T said.
