Booker T: One Thing Wrestling Is Missing Is The Acting Ability Of Young Guys, We Were Great Actors

Booker T: a five-time WCW Champion and an actor at heart.

Professional wrestling is about more than the moves in between the ropes. Vignettes often help push a character forward and force the performer behind the character to show off some acting chops.

Bobby Lashley: Hurt Business Was The Most Fun Time In My Career

Booker T recently talked about some of his favorite vignettes that he participated in while speaking to the Undertaker on a Patreon exclusive Q&A. Booker put over some of the work that he did feuding with The Boogeyman.

"Being able to really, really make The Boogeyman something special. You gotta really be all in," he said. "You gotta know how to laugh at yourself. For me, I've always been able to laugh at myself. I've always been able to put myself in that mode to where I'm the scariest person in the room. I used to love watching the Three Stooges, and they were the best at laughing at themselves, putting themselves in a position to entertain you for that person you're working with. So, for me, I think some of the highlight vignettes would be with The Boogeyman and Sharmell, where she's on a bed of worms, and I got to come in and save her, but I'm too scared to come in and do it."

Undertaker would praise Booker T's work with Goldust and say the acting was better than some sitcoms. Booker responded that he believes modern wrestlers are lacking in the acting department and tries to get young wrestlers to understand that they need to lock into that side of the performance to reach another level.

"That's the beauty of it. That's the one thing I always talk about back then, too. Not only were we good wrestlers and entertainers, we were really good actors. I think that's one thing that's missing from the business, too, the acting ability of the young guys, trying to get them to that point and understand that you're going to really have to be able to do that part very, very well if you want to make it to the next level."

Perhaps Booker T can teach that to the next generation of wrestlers as his Reality of Wrestling training school is now a part of the WWE Independent Development program. Learn more here.

Booker T has also recently talked about why he's afraid to do a Spinaroonie in 2024. Read more here.
