Booker T says it felt good.
At Reality of Wrestling Battle To The Bell on January 11th, Booker T competed in his first singles match since 2019 and defeated Zilla Fatu. The match marked his first time competing in the ring since WWE Royal Rumble 2019.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T discussed his return to the ring.
"Zilla Fatu stepped inside the ring with the real boss, Booker T. The owner, CEO, president of Reality of Wrestling. The thing is, it’s a thing called justice, and then there’s another thing. That thing is called street justice. The thing is, my mama told me a long time ago that if you big enough to pass a lick, you big enough to take one. That’s what this situation is. There’s a pecking order, and sometimes you gotta know your place. Sometimes, if you don’t know your place, what’s gonna happen? You’re gonna get put in your place. That’s what’s gonna happen. The thing is, a lot of people came in. We had a sold-out house. Some people drove more than five hours to see Zilla Fatu take on Booker T, and I want to thank those guys. It was a sea, they were going crazy. It was a beautiful, beautiful night for Reality of Wrestling. But more importantly, sometimes, you got to learn, and you got to learn the hard way. That’s what I call that. Do I love Zilla? I love Zilla. I love this kid. That was a learning experience for Zilla Fatu on Saturday night. He’s gonna take away from that and learn from that moment, and never, ever put himself in situation like that ever again. Trust me on that," Booker T said.
Booker T then said that he was teaching Zilla Fatu the ropes, and on Saturday, he took him to the school of hard knocks. He reiterated that he taught Zilla Fatu a lesson. He then said that he owed AJ Francis a favor for helping him during the match.
“I want to thank Booker T, myself, for going out there and doing some of my best work inside the middle of that squared circle. Thank you, Booker. Thank you.....People wondered, ‘Would Booker T ever step back inside the squared circle?’ I wondered, I even pondered, would I step back inside the squared circle? I’ll tell you right now, guys, on Saturday night, it felt damn good. I still had the legs. I still had the old Scissor Kick, the old side kick, the Spinaroonie. I still had it all. Did I have to use it? No, I didn’t have to use it, but I had it just in case," Booker T said.
Booker T went on to emphasize that he helped Fatu by teaching him a lesson.
As of this writing, it is not known when or if Booker T will return to the ring again.
Booker T previously said that he was going to help Zilla Fatu get to WWE. Check out his comments here.
