Booker T: When I See Kazarian And Christopher Daniels On The AEW Roster, I Think TNA

Booker T offers up some criticism regarding AEW's current roster.

On the latest episode of his Heated Conversations podcast, Booker T was running down the All Elite Wrestling roster. Booker mentioned that he didn't recognize or know much about the majority of the names on the roster, but pointed out Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels as two guys he is familiar with. And why he doesn't want to see them as in-ring competitors in AEW.

"Just about everybody on the roster, I really didn't know a whole lot about," said Booker. "I know a lot about Kazarian and Daniels. They've been around a long time. Do you sign Kazarian and Daniels because they are talent or because they are good buddies? If I'm going to have veterans around, they are going to be production, not on the roster. When I see guys like Kazarian and Daniels, I see TNA. The rest of the names, I've never heard of these guys and I want to see what they got. I know what Daniels and Kazarian got."

Booker was challenged by co-host Brad Gilmore on his comments, wondering why Booker wasn't more upset at the inclusion of Chris Jericho, who is the same age as Daniels.

"Chris Jericho brings star power," said Booker. "He's like Mick Jagger. When Mick Jagger walks in, you don't ask, 'How old is he?' You say, 'That's Mick Jagger.' He brings so much more to the table."

Booker continued, "Could it be a mistake already made by AEW, signing guys you already know? If I'm going to start something new, it's gonna be fresh. You're not gonna know (anybody) on the roster but me. Not a lot of ex-WWE, TNA or WCW guys. Just fresh new guys. That's what I feel AEW will bring to the table. Done right, this could blow up. Done wrong....it could blow up."

Cody Rhodes has consistently preached the idea of "fresh" talent in AEW. Jericho recently stated on Twitter that AEW is only interested in "6-8 talents total" from WWE, ROH, and IMPACT.
