Brandi Rhodes comments on her decision to step away from wrestling.

Brandi has been in the wrestling business since 2011, when she signed with WWE and started training with the company. She requested her release but later returned to WWE in 2013. Brandi worked as a ring announcer and interviewer until she left the company in 2016. The duo worked for the company until their departure in February 2022. Brandi also wrestled for AEW, and she had a prominent run with the Nightmare Collective. Though she missed over a year following the birth of her daughter, she returned to the ring near the end of her time in AEW. In a recent interview, Brandi stated that wrestling isn't in her plans right now.

Speaking with BARE Magazine, Brandi was asked about her decision to step away from wrestling. She stated that she feels very good about it, as she noted that her position in the business had taken the joy of it out of her. Brandi made it clear that she wanted to focus on work that would let her experience joy with her contributions.

"It has been about a year. I feel very good about the decision. There was a lot about my position in the industry that took a lot of the joy out of it for me. Life is too short to be fighting so hard and still left feeling unfulfilled. Especially with everything that I have to offer still mentally and physically. I’d like to experience joy in my contributions at this point," Brandi said.

While Brandi is focused on other projects, Cody recently returned to the ring at WWE Royal Rumble, where he won the battle royal to earn a world title shot at WrestleMania 39. When asked about his road back to the ring following the torn pectoral muscle he suffered in 2022, Brandi expressed her excitement. She stated that she believes Cody is at the top of his game.

"I’m very excited for my husband. He has put in so much work in his recovery and has been diligent in returning in his best form. I believe he is at the top of his game and fans will see and appreciate that," she said.

Brandi also noted that she remains passionate about her Shot of Brandi show, and she's working on other projects, but it takes time for things to come together.

Mick Foley previously stated that connecting Brandi with KultureCity may be his best contribution to wrestling. Check out his comments here.
