Brett Lauderdale On GCW Returning To The Hammerstein Ballroom: It Will Happen When The Time Is Right

GCW owner Brett Lauderdale says he wants to wait until the right time to return to the Hammerstein Ballroom.

GCW produced its biggest show ever when it held The WRLD on GCW at the Hammerstein Ballroom on January 23. The show broke the company's viewership records on FITE and featured stars like Jon Moxley, Jeff Jarrett, Ruby Soho, and The Briscoes.

Speaking on The Business of the Business podcast, Lauderdale was asked whether he has a hold on a date for a return to the Hammerstein. He stated that he doesn't think it will happen this January because he wants to wait until the timing is right. Lauderdale emphasized that he wants to return for a purpose, and while he has one in mind, a few dominoes have to fall into place first.

"No holds right now, and I don’t think it’s gonna happen this January. I think that there’s a couple dominoes that I’m waiting to kind of fall in place and again, I don’t wanna do it unless we can do it right and do it big. I don’t wanna go there and do it again and sell 500 tickets or whatever. I wanna go there for a purpose. I think I have a purpose in mind, but I need all the planets to align again. I don’t think it’s too far off, but I don’t wanna do it until I’m 100% ready. So I continue to have a good relationship with the Manhattan Center, and I talk to my contact there every once in a while. I think, yeah, again, when the time is right, it’s gonna happen, but I just don’t know when yet," Lauderdale said.

Lauderdale previously discussed the success of The WRLD on GCW and also stated that he felt like he let people down. He later stated that he did what was best for business at the event. His comments are available here.
