I've been fortunate enough to interview dozens of wrestlers for Fightful alone, but there has always been one burning question that has eluded me?
Why would Stone Cold Steve Austin, even as cold and stoney as he was in 1997 ruin an innocent child's kiddie pool. I'm of course referring to the infamous late 1996 segment where Steve Austin appeared in Walton, KY to confront his late former-friend in Brian Pillman to confront him. During the segment, Austin attacked one of Pillman's friends, nearly drowning him in a kiddie pool in the process.
I went straight to the source, Brian Pillman Jr., to find out if it was indeed his pool.
Now, Pillman is on a mission to recoup his lost pool. On Twitter, he thanked fans for his 7,000th follower, and posted a tweet saying that he'll be selling t-shirts soon to restore his infamous pool lost 20 years ago.
Steve Austin, even in his older years, has no regrets about the situation. He did offer an apology to the pro wrestling rookie in Pillman Jr., however.
I want to establish that despite Austin being the crafty veteran and much more experienced, if a pool gets involved, I'm going with Pillman Jr. There was a video that surfaced locally in our area of Pillman hitting a picture perfect RKO into a pool last summer.
Austin CAN swim, though.
This could very well develop into a heated feud. If only Pillman had something to cool off in, this could have all been prevented.
