Bronson Reed Says He Was Supposed To Hit ‘Significantly Less’ Than Six Tsunamis On Seth Rollins

The segment left Rollins coughing up blood and kept him off television for nearly two months.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Reed was asked if he was always supposed to hit six tsunamis.

"No [laughs]. I think it was supposed to be significantly less. The way it turned out, with Hunter’s [Triple H] vision, it was more and more and more. It was one of those things where you listen to the audience and you can feel a change in the audience as I was doing it. I hit the first two, they started booing. It looked like that was it. I go up for the third one. ‘What the hell is going on here?’ I go up for the fourth one and by the fifth one they’re chanting for more. It’s bloodlust amongst the crowd, for someone that they love as well. They love Seth Rollins. I’m glad it ended up working where, after the sixth one, I left and they still were singing his music that he comes out to. It worked. As much as they love someone like Seth Rollins or any of the top guys, that move has its own lore. If you get to see it live, it’s different than seeing it on TV. It’s very impactful. To hit six in a row, which I’ve never done, is a lot," said Reed.

Asked when he told Seth that he was going to hit more, Reed replied, "As it’s happening. It’s one of those things where he has to be willing to be there and I have to be willing to do more. It definitely worked out and made for a great moment in television. I had so much buzz around that and people online saying they haven’t seen something like that where you take someone and propel them in one night and one segment. Just brutality."

Rollins got his revenge on the September 30th episode of WWE Raw, helping Braun Strowman in the Last Monster Standing match against Reed.

Elsewhere during the interview, Reed commented on his relationship with Paul Heyman. You can read his full comments by clicking here.
