Bryan Danielson comments on Nigel McGuinness returning to the ring in Wembley Stadium.
Bryan Danielson and Nigel McGuinness were bitter rivals in Ring of Honor. Although they never got the chance to wrestle outside of the company once their careers came to an end, they will get the chance if Danielson is cleared by AEW Grand Slam.
Nigel McGuinness returned to the ring in Wembley Stadium at AEW All In 2024 as part of the Casino Gauntlet. Danielson made sure to watch a little bit of his former rival's return and was very complimentary of Nigel in an interview with Justin Barrasso.
“Nigel looked good–he looked real good,” said Danielson. “I wanted to see his entrance and how the crowd responded to him, and I loved the stuff between him and Okada. As I was preparing, I missed the interplay between Nigel and Zack Sabre Jr., so I was really looking forward to going back and watching that. It’s incredible he’s back.”
Danielson has not formally responded to Nigel's challenge to a match on September 25 in Queens, New York, but if his music hits, McGuinness believes wrestling fans will be in for a match of the ages.
