Bryan Danielson: Flaccid Penises Are Funny, Is Flaccid Penis Talk My Legacy Now?

A year ago, Bryan Danielson confirmed there is a lot of flaccid penis talk in the AEW locker room.

Danielson joined Powerhouse Hobbs for the Power Hour at Starrcast, and flaccid penis talk was out of control.

Hobbs: Start from the beginning. Start for how this actually came up.

Danielson: What are you talking about? Flaccid penises? We're not born erect. I don't think, maybe some people are. There might be some medical professionals here. Has anyone been there for a live birthing experience? Do the boys come out erect, ever?

Austin Gunn: I was fully erect when I was born.

Danielson: How did the flaccid penis talk come up? I found it funny. There is a masculine culture thing around sex and penis size and erections and whatever it is. Locker room type talk. I was like, that's not the funny part about penises. The funny part is a flaccid penis. Nobody wants to talk about it. It's comical. I grew up with Muppets and Gonzo has this nose.

Hobbs: I always thought that was weird. It's a big blue dick.

Danielson: Giant eyeballs right next to it. This wasn't a big topic of conversation when I was with WWE, but one of the first things that happened when I came to AEW was I got a lot of 'hello sir, nice to meet you.' That wasn't what I came here for. I came here because I wanted to help and have fun matches. This is the twilight of my career and I wanted to have fun. Having fun with the boys, not partying having fun, the fun conversations, the uniqueness, it's just the best. As somebody who was forced to retire for a period of time, when you're gone, you miss it. I didn't want to be in a locker room where everyone is 'Hello, sir.' For example, Lee Moriarty, he is very respectful and a great human being and wrestler. He is somebody who is 'hello sir, nice to meet you.' Now, he'll be like, 'Bryan, are you talking about flaccid penises again?'

Hobbs: He's opened up.

Danielson: He's like 'stop.' What it does is it opens it up to be, we can have real conversations. It was a tool to get to know people and not have them treat you with this idea of 'I need to call you sir.' We can just have fun. Lately, I've been steering away from the flaccid penis talk. That's deliberate.

Hobbs: Why?

Danielson: I've already established that connection and they're putting me in new roles in AEW where that might not be appropriate. The flaccid penis talk is for the boys, that was my intention. The flaccid penis talk is for the boys. It is not to be told to any of the women outside of the locker room. This is for us, this is our thing, but the boys can't help being the boys and doing what they do. All of a sudden, you're having this conversation with women. Now you're venturing on topics that are not appropriate for work sometimes. I accomplished what I needed to accomplish. Since I've been out with a broken arm, I've gotten multiple texts from people saying, 'there is a lack of flaccid penis talk in the locker room.'

Hobbs: You know when you come back to the locker room, that's going to be the first thing that comes up.

Danielson: I was there on Wednesday, I walked in the locker room, 'hey guys.' 'Flaccid penis talk has been missing.' Is that my legacy now? Is that where I'm at?

Hobbs: If you ever write a book, you have the flaccid penis chapter.

Danielson: I wrote a book. The word penis may not have ever been mentioned, which is shocking given how my mind thinks.

Hobbs: We may have to add a chapter.

Danielson: We'll do a second edition. It doesn't have anything about my AEW career, just randomly inserted into chapters, my remembrance of how I thought about flaccid penises at the time.

John Silver later confirmed that the AEW locker room also talks about erect penises.

Simply put, there is no shortage of penis talk among the boys in AEW.
