Bryan Danielson: One Of My Goals Is To Be Able To Go Train Jiu-Jitsu Without Getting Hurt

Bryan Danielson discusses his current health.

At AEW WrestleDream last year, Bryan Danielson would compete in his at present, final match when he would lose the AEW World Title to Jon Moxley, and was choked out with a plastic bag by Wheeler Yuta. Since then, Danielson has provided multiple updates on his health and if he is truly retired from the world of pro wrestling.

While speaking to The Daily Star in a new interview, Danielson was asked if he was in good health, with Bryan explaining that his current goal is to get back on the mats and training in jiu-jitsu.

I wouldn't say, I wouldn't say good health in the sense of like, I can't work out the way that I used to work out. My therapist literally won't allow me to. Like, I can't hold heavy dumbbells, just down. There's certain things, and we're hoping to build that back up, right? So, like, in working with people, that sort of thing, like, one of my goals is to be able to go and train jiu-jitsu. Not compete, but just be able to go do jiu-jitsu and not get hurt. One of the guys that I'm working with says, 'so yeah, I think that's possible in like a year.' I was like, 'okay, so what does that mean for wrestling?' But I also don't want to say like, 'Hey, I'm done wrestling' because I've said a couple of times, 'Oh, I mean, it's 95% sure that I won't be competing at Forbidden Door.' One of the guys just said, 'Well, that still leaves 5%.' I'm like, yeah. That's if something horrible happens and Tony calls me like, hey, Bryan, we need somebody to fill in. I was like, 'okay, I guess I can do it, right?; Never say never. But other than that,it's like I'm now at the stage of my life. I did 25 years of wrestling, and I loved it, and I'm satisfied, and it feels like enough right now. "

Elsewhere in another interview, Danielson also spoke about how his neck is feeling at this stage in his recovery. You can read more about that here.
