Bryan Danielson Says It Would've Been Really Cool And Fun To Work With CM Punk In AEW

Bryan Danielson reflects on not getting to work with CM Punk in AEW.

CM Punk debuted for the company on the August 20, 2021 edition of AEW Rampage. Just days later, Bryan Danielson made his debut for the promotion by appearing at the end of the All Out pay-per-view event.

Despite being on the same roster for two years, Punk and Danielson never got to face off inside of the ring. Punk was terminated from AEW in Setpember 2023 after being involved in a backstage altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In.

While speaking to Inside The Ropes for an interview that took place before All In 2024, Danielson said that it would've been really cool and fun to work with Punk in AEW.

“Sad isn’t the right word. It was something that I thought was gonna happen that didn’t happen. So it’s like, it would’ve been really cool and really fun for me.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Danielson recalled Vince McMahon telling him that he could do the G1 Climax tournament if he stayed with WWE. Learn more about those comments here.
