Bryan Danielson issued a big challenge.
Bryan Danielson addressed the crowd on the September 9 episode of AEW Collision, saying that he promised his daughter he would wind down his career and he wasn't going to break his promise. However, if Danielson is winding down his career, he won't go quietly and that if this is his last year in wrestling, he's going to make it epic.
Danielson's contract with AEW expires in September 2024 and he's previously stated that this would be his last full-time run as a wrestler.
Part of his epic final year includes a match against Zack Sabre Jr at AEW WrestleDream. Danielson issued the challenge to ZSJ during his promo. The two men were originally scheduled to face each other at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2022, but Danielson was injured.
The bout between Danielson and ZSJ for AEW WrestleDream was made official after the promo.

Danielson's night wasn't over as Ricky Starks interrupted his promo. Danielson said that Starks earned his respect in the strap match at AEW All Out, which was won by Danielson. Danielson seemingly offered Starks a spot in the Blackpool Combat Club, but he was attacked by Starks & Big Bill.
Jon Moxley made the save for Danielson.
