Buddy Matthews heard what Will Ospreay said.
Will Ospreay defeated Buddy Matthews on the January 8th episode of AEW Dynamite. After the match, Ospreay praised Matthews and said that he didn't need a leader to succeed in AEW. He also told Buddy that if he ever needed a man in his corner, he was his guy.
In a digital exclusive, Buddy Matthews commented on his loss and responded to Will Ospreay.
“2024 is in the books. 2025 is the now, and it’s upon us. I didn’t start my 2025 the way I was hoping, especially leading into Grand Slam in Australia next month. But for years, Will’s heard my name, and for years, I’ve heard Will’s. Tonight, these names came together. Will, even though you put a hiccup in my 2025, your words tonight didn’t go to deaf ears," Matthews said.
Matthews is a member of the House of Black stable in AEW. Malakai Black has been absent from AEW programming in recent weeks, and he last competed at AEW Full Gear.
