Cain Velasquez will be out of prison in less than two years.
On Monday, March 24, Velasquez pled no-contest to numerous charges, including attempted murder. These charges stem from an incident in 2022 when Velasquez allegedly shot at Harry Goularte Jr. and two members of his family during a high-speed chase. Velasquez allegedly attempted to shoot at Goularte during the chase, instead injuring Goularte's stepfather. The chase stemmed from Goularte being arrested after allegedly sexually abusing Velasquez's child at a daycare facility.
As a result of his plea, Velasquez has been sentenced to five years in prison. The former UFC Champion will get credit for the time he has already served, approximately 1,283 days. With the reduction, Velasquez is set to get out of prison in less than two years.
