Candy Cartwright (real name Samantha Tavel) has addressed Matt Riddle filing a notice to dismiss the restraining order against her.
It was reported by David Bixenspan of Babyface v. Heel, Riddle and his lawyer Daniel J. Rose had requested to get a restraining order against Cartwright after she had accused Riddle of sexually assaulting her years ago. Riddle and Rose had filed a complaint, but the two requested a voluntary dismissal, just over 36 hours before a hearing was set to begin.
According to court records in Riddle's petition (of which Riddle is regarded as the "Petitioner"), Riddle accused Cartwright of several things including “committed stalking," “previously threatened, harassed, stalked, cyberstalked, or physically abused the Petitioner," "threatened to harm Petitioner or family members or individuals closely associated with Petitioner" and more. Cartwright's lawyer Allison Lovelady had tried to dismiss the petition, refuting many of the claims Riddle made against Cartwright, before Riddle's notice of dismissal.
Cartwright took to social media to address Riddle's dismissal, posting the news release and thanking everyone for their support. Cartwright said in the statement, "I’m relieved that these claims were dismissed, but the damage to my reputation and career remains. I came forward to prevent this from happening to other women, and will continue to fight for justice. It’s not easy to see my name smeared on social media or wake up to hate messages and threats. But I am speaking up because I was inspired by the brave women who came before me. My hope is that other victims of sexual violence feel empowered to share the truth about their experiences as I have done and will continue to do.”

Riddle has not publicly commented on the situation since releasing a video on social media where he admitted to having an affair with Cartwright. WWE has alluded to Riddle's personal issues on television during his recent feed with King Corbin.
