The Judgment Day earned a shot at the gold.
On the May 13 episode of WWE Raw, The Judgment Day (JD McDonagh and Finn Balor) faced New Catch Republic (Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne), the Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed), and the Authors of Pain (Akam and Rezar). The winner of the match would earn a shot at the WWE World Tag Team Championship, which is held by The Awesome Truth (The Miz and R-Truth).
The Authors of Pain showcased their power early on, as they threw McDonagh onto a group of competitors.

The Judgment Day then took control as they isolated Brutus Creed. Julius Creed rallied with a flurry of offense. Balor and McDonagh gained the upper hand again. AOP tried to take out Judgment Day with powerbombs. Brutus Creed then suplexed Akam. He a Brutus Ball to the outside. Tyler Bate lifted Akam and hit the airplane spin. Bate and Dunne proceeded to double-team Balor. Bate dove onto McDonagh at ringside.
In the end, Carlito attacked Dunne and hit him with a Backstabber. Balor then hits the Coup de Grace for the win.

Carlito has been trying to get on Judgment Day's good side in recent weeks, and helping the group earn a title shot could go a long way.
