Carmelo Hayes Retains NXT Championship Over Bron Breakker At WWE NXT Battleground

At WWE NXT Battleground, Carmelo Hayes proved that even the biggest dog doesn't stand a chance when they try to take on Melo in his backyard.

Carmelo Hayes faced Bron Breakker at WWE NXT Battleground in a rematch from WWE NXT Stand and Deliver. Breakker put up one hell of a fight, even coming close to a victory after countering a springboard with a Spear, but in the end, Hayes won after connecting with superkicks and a Springboard DDT, followed by Nothing But Net.

This match came about when Breakker turned heel on Melo in the wake of their match at Stand and Deliver. Despite believing that he is still the Top Dog in NXT, Breakker came up short, falling twice to Carmelo Hayes.
