Carmelo Hayes reveals how he reacted when Kelani Jordan won the women's North American title.

For those who are unaware, Carmelo and Kelani are a real life couple and at NXT Battleground last month, Jordan would take part in a ladder match to crown the first women's North American champion. In the end, Jordan would come away the victor.

While speaking to WrestlingNewsCo at the WWE Money In The Bank media junket, Hayes was asked about how he reacted to Jordan's big victory, with Carmelo noting that he cried tears of joy.

"Yeah, I was at home on the couch, and, you know, I had no idea. I didn't know. So I'm sitting watching. I'm thinking as she's climbing. I'm like, oh, that's a good little help, you know, a good little almost. I'm thinking somebody's going to rip her off. She grabbed the title, and I jumped up. I cried. I actually cried tears of joy. I've done a lot of cool things, and I haven't cried. But that made me actually cry just because I know how hard that girl works. Obviously, you know, I care for that girl. But I just know how hard she works, and she earned that."

Carmelo is currently scheduled to compete in the Men's Money In The Bank ladder match on tonight's titular Premium Live Event while Jordan will defend her championship for the first time at NXT Heatwave on Sunday vs Sol Ruca.
