Chelsea Green did not know that Jordynne Grace was going to be in the 2024 WWE Royal Rumble ahead of time.
Jordynne Grace made history in the 2024 Royal Rumble by becoming the first woman to make her WWE debut in the match while representing another company as she is the current TNA Knockouts World Champion. Chelsea Green was already entered in the Royal Rumble and despite her previous connection to Grace as part of the IMPACT Wrestling roster, Green says she had no clue about Grace's surprise entry ahead of the Royal Rumble.
Speaking to Steve Fall of WrestlingNewsCo, Green said the fact that the locker room was surprised shows how special of a surprise it was for the audience.
"No, I didn't [know that Grace was going to be in the Royal Rumble]. I was so mad at her. I told her, 'I can't believe I was texting you and you didn't tell me!' when I say I had no clue I truly [mean it.]," she said. "We all sit around in the locker room and we think, ‘Okay. Maybe it could be this person. Who is a really cool surprise that it could be this year? Who’s kind of in the realm of possibility?’ She was not even in the realm of possibility, and that’s what makes it so cool. The fact that [we] as a locker room and a roster [were] surprised, I can only imagine how surprised the fans were."
Furthermore, Green was asked about who she would potentially like to face in a one-on-one setting from TNA Wrestling and admitted that she feels she had her best matches against Jordynne Grace and thinks that the fans deserve to see the high-quality matches that she would be capable of putting on against Grace.
"Jordynne, easy. I love Jordynne. I love her. I think that, in the ring, we really mesh well together. We really hit hard and run fast. That’s the kind of opponent I want and that’s what I want WWE fans to be able to see out of me as well. I want to be able to give them the 5-star matches that they deserve and Jordynne is an amazing opponent to be able to do that with."
Grace spoke about her WWE Royal Rumble experience during a recent interview with Sean Ross Sapp. She also stated that she would love the opportunity to represent TNA Wrestling in a WWE ring again. Learn more here.
