Chris Adonis On NWA Hard Times 3: I Don't Know If I'm On The Card, I Know I Can Help Sell The Show

Chris Adonis doesn't know whether he'll be on the card for NWA Hard Times 3, and the former champion thinks he should be because he's confident in what he brings to the table.

Adonis has been featured in the NWA since his debut at the Back For The Attack event in 2021. Since then, he has captured the NWA National Championship, and he was a member of the Strictly Business stable alongside Nick Aldis, Kamille, and Thom Latimer. He continues to regularly compete on NWA programming, but he hasn't been announced for NWA Hard Times 3 yet.

WWE Files To Trademark 'RKO'

Speaking with Steve Fall of NBC Sports Boston, Adonis started previewing the pay-per-view and noted that he doesn't know if he'll be on the card. He stated that he has brought it up with upper management, but either way, he encouraged fans to watch the show.

“I think they just announced the main event, which is going to be Matt Cardona taking on Trevor Murdoch, who’s the NWA World Champion. I think that’s gonna be a heck of a match, and I still think we’re in the process of announcing matches, but I’m not completely even sure what I’m doing on the card at this point, or if I’m on the card. But hopefully. You think I’m joking, but I ran this through all of upper management just a few days ago. So [laughs] I don’t know. It’s fine. Can’t be on everything. But either way, it’s gonna be a good card in New Orleans, so I would encourage everybody to check it out on FITE TV," Adonis said.

When asked how he felt about seemingly getting left off the card and whether it affects him, Adonis described how it hurts, both in a general sense and with the perspective that he believes he's one of the best in the game today. He stated that he can help sell a pay-per-view, so he's confused as to why the company wouldn't use him to do so.

“It definitely affects [me]. I think most of us who get into this business love it or have a passion for it. So for me, yeah, it does affect me. It hurts to not be on the card, but also from a standpoint of, I honestly think I’m one of the best in-ring talents in the game today. You can watch any of my work over the last year, and you can see that. I’ve delivered every single time when it comes to storytelling to physicality to athleticism. Then you factor in everything you just said, the star power and name recognition, so that’s where at the end of the day, I end up having questions. I’m like, I can be used to a certain degree as far as my star power in terms of to help sell a pay-per-view or whatnot over other guys. So it is what is. But to answer your question, yes, it doesn’t affect me. If it didn’t, then that would be an even bigger problem, I should get out of the wrestling business. But I think all of us love it and have passion for it. But if you watch any of my work over the last work, I promise you I am one of the best in the business today. Check out a match and tell me otherwise," Adonis said.

Fall then wondered why Adonis hasn't been featured on more posters, given the way his relative star power could potentially help sell more tickets. Adonis agreed and noted that this pattern has been an issue recently before he emphasized that he loves the NWA.

“I can’t say I disagree with you, and this has been an issue over the last month or two. Again, I love NWA and I love what we’re doing there. I love what we represent, and I’ve looked at NWA as a great opportunity for me, as a place that I can perform, a platform where I can show the world who I am, who’s a very different performer from the Chris Masters that a lot of people saw earlier in his career," he said.
